Aloha. At Dave Sweet Surfboards we are going to stay with our historical trait of being a little different from the rest of the crowd. We are not going to confuse you with a myriad of models with strange names or models from famous named surfers you may or may not have heard of. However, we will offer a numbered, signed collection of signature models by Dave for the serious collector.

As a traditional, old style surf shop we are going to offer you ANY shape…or ANY model that you can supply the dimensions for. We are hand shaping so we can duplicate any of your favorite styles. Or, for the surfer who is not quite sure what shape board he wants we can help you determine a shape to enhance your personal surfing preferences and ability. If you want a square tail or a pin tail or a diamond tail…no problem. Concave or slot nose? Concave tail or step deck…whatever. We have over 75 years of shaping experience.

And, as in the 60's, all Dave Sweet Surfboards will be custom made to your exact specifications. No computers or molded pop-outs will be used. All our boards will be hand-shaped by a master of the craft, with Dave's approval. Each board will be a totally hand crafted work of art. As it once was...

We are offering three types of longboards. In keeping with today's trend toward lightweight performance surfboards we have the Dave Sweet Light-Weight. For those who want a crossover board with today's performance and the smoothness of glide from the past we feature the Dave Sweet Mid-Weight. Finally, for those looking for the steady durability and stability of the 60's we have the Dave Sweet Retro. Buff and polish will be a standard feature.

The Light-Weight features today's lighter blanks and glass jobs, for quickness and immediate response. What these boards sacrifice in durability is made up for with ease of use and increased performance for the most demanding maneuvers found in the longboard surfing of the new millenium.

The Dave Sweet Mid-Weight

The Mid-Weight is designed to be a more fluid surfboard which smoothes out the more radical performance of the Light-Weight. Some quickness is sacrificed for added durability. The Mid-Weight is more stable in tight situations and has enhanced speed down the line depending upon shape. This board is great for the demanding surfer who wants his board to last more than one or two seasons.

The Dave Sweet Retro

This is the board for the surfer who wants the durability and the stability from the old days. Most of the models you see offered today were originally built like the Retro. The old pros that lend their names to today's models rode boards like the Retro. This board recreates the smoothness and style of glide from the 60's and blasts through sections that the lighter weight boards won't get through.

The Dave Sweet Signature Model

For the serious collector and surfing aficionado Dave is offering a limited numbered series of Signature Models (250 will be made). This is the board with everything! Whether you want to display it on a wall or actually put wax on it and ride it is up to you. The man that created the foam surfboard will make these boards. They will be historical works of art.
